Anywhere from a couple of posts a week to one every three weeks has had a noticeable impact on their increased visibility with first page searches. At the heart of this strategy is consistency. While I've heard and read about this - I am still waiting to hear some anecdotal responses from people that have benefited from such a practice. Would love to hear your feedback (or anyone else's for that matter!)
